I don't buy Martha or other crafty mags and I don't read crafty blogs because I know I'll just get annoyed at the fact I'm not crafty. Maybe I should eliminate the word "can't" from my vocabulary, but that's just how I feel. All through elementary, middle, and high school I relied on my oh-so-crafty mother to...ahem...help me with projects. In case you're wondering, that means she totally did them for me. Anyway, I figured that maybe the wedding would jump start my inner Martha.
A few weeks ago I bought a $3 white hair flower at Wet Seal (yeah...I'm 23 and still shop there. Totally acceptable.) I thought I could remove some petals and glue or sew on some pearls/rhinestones. Easy peasy, right? Well, I found a beaded bracelet that I never wear anymore. It looked like it might work. So yesterday I tried it out.
Here is the flower:

I cut out/ripped out the middle section:
I also attempted a DIY bouquet which I'll write about in an upcoming post. At least I still have a year to go. If nothing else, I have a crafty momma ;)
